South Bay California Writing School Classes in San Pedro, Torrance, Los Angeles

A writing school for writers and aspiring writers who live South of the 105 freeway offers workshops on story structure, seminars on self-publishing, a monthly literary mixer and a writers retreat in Spain.

SAN PEDRO, CA, March 21, 2011 (Press-News.org) Published writer and former magazine editor, Lara Sterling, announces the launch of Your Plot Thickens, a new writing school for the South Bay of Los Angeles and on-line. Workshops currently offered at Your Plot Thickens include "Story Structure 101" and a seminar "How to Self-Publish Your Novel". Your Plot Thickens will also begin offering "Beginning Screenwriting", "How to Write for Magazines" as well as classes that inform about how to write specific genres (e.g., the Romantic Comedy or the Thriller). Workshops and seminars at Your Plot Thickens are suitable for both beginning writers as well as advanced writers. "Story Structure 101", Your Plot Thickens' flagship class, is a nine-week workshop for screenwriters, novelists, playwrights and memoirists. Screenwriters should expect to leave with a rough draft of their screenplay written and novelists with the major plot points of their story outlined. Once a year, Your Plot Thickens hosts a writers retreat in Cadaques, an idyllic fishing village in Northwestern Spain, where Salvador Dali's summer home still exists. During a week and a half stay, writers will spend their mornings in a "Story Structure 101" Intensive and their afternoons exploring the region on tours tailored with the writer in mind.
