New York City Musicians Commemorate the Ninth Year Anniversary of 9-11
Jazz Saxophonist Albert Rivera Pays Tribute with His Song and Video, "Remembrance"
NEW YORK, NY, September 09, 2010
It has nearly been nine years since the devastating attacks of September 11, 2001, yet for many Americans, and perhaps especially residents of New York City, the events of that day are unforgotten. New York City resident and jazz saxophonist Albert Rivera reflects on 9/11 with "Remembrance", a tribute song he wrote to honor the thousands of lives lost.A tender and emotional composition, "Remembrance" features a number of New York City musicians including Rivera on saxophone, Nick Roseboro on trumpet, Zaccai Curtis on piano, and Luques Curtis on bass. Drummer and Washington D.C. native, Nathan Jolley, also contributes to the recording. "Remembrance"s featured on the album"Inner Peace", Rivera's second release on Turnaround Records (www.turnaroundrecords.com).
A music video of the piece features a montage of many haunting and poignant images of September 11, 2001. Rivera hopes that the song and video will help continue the memories of those who lost their lives on that day. The video "Remembrance" can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/turnaroundrecords.
