LateRooms.com - Enjoy The Comedy of Art in Milan

Milan's Palazzo Reale is hosting The Comedy of Art, which showcases the work of Alberto Savinio.

2011-03-26
MILAN, ITALY, March 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Comedy of Art is currently on display at the Palazzo Reale in Milan and offers a comprehensive overview of the work produced by Alberto Savinio.

Running until June 12th 2011, the installation features 100 pieces created by Savinio, who was the brother of another major artist in the Italian canon Giorgio de Chirico.

The venue described Savinio as an artist "who managed to traverse the arts of the 20th century, contributing in an original way and anticipating the versatility and style of references that were to be postmodern".

Visitors will find his work separated into five themed sections: mythical, literature, architecture, objects and scenery.

Savinio was not only a conventional painter; he also worked on creating stage sets for a number of major theatrical productions.

Tickets for The Comedy of Art cost EUR9 (GBP7.80), with the exhibition opening at 09:30 local time every day except Monday, when people can enter from 14:30. The installation closes at 19:30 daily, apart from on Thursday and Saturday when it shuts at 22:30.

LateRooms.com offers a vast selection of luxury hotels in Milan that may appeal to art enthusiasts, for example the Hotel Berna Milan.
