RemoteTwain: Share Your Scanner with Colleagues and Use It as a Network Scanner

ScanWorks Ltd., an outstanding developer of document capture tools and solutions, announces the release of RemoteTwain. This TWAIN driver allows reliable and convenient share any scanner across office or home.

2011-03-26
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, March 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) RemoteTwain makes any scanner as a network scanner. Built-in security system provides ability to select who will be able to use shared scanner: everyone or someone from a particular computer.

RemoteTwain is intended to be used by banks, small business, computer labs and home offices which need to share a scanner across several people. Any business can save expenses and office space by having work-groups share a single scanner between other users. It works with most Twain scanners. RemoteTwain uses standard HTTP protocol and can be used safely with Firewalls.

Another option is using RemoteTwain if scanner does not have drivers for Windows 7 or does not work on 64 bit system. RemoteTwain allows connecting scanner to old computer in a network and sharing it. In case of Windows 7 Professional and up no separate PC is required: embedded XP Mode will work perfectly.

RemoteTwain can improve quality of scanned documents using Image Enhancement settings. It is possible to binarize scanned documents with better quality than it is done with most low end scanners. Also it can automatically detect image colorless and binarize if it is required. RemoteTwain can either smooth paper background or drop it out. It helps improving OCR quality and barcode recognition rate.

ScanWorks Ltd. develops effective tools that improve document capture processes. And one of such tools is RemoteTwain. Simple installation process allows sharing a scanner in less than five minutes and use it from unlimited number of workstations.

Pricing and Availability
Home license of RemoteTwain is available just for USD 29.00 for now. It allows using your scanner with unlimited number of computers. Free one year upgrade is included! RemoteTwain supports Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7 32/64 bits.
