BOULDER, CO, March 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) Amadeus Consulting, a Boulder-based custom software development company, announced today that it has been nominated for the 2011 Colorado Companies to Watch Award. Colorado Companies to Watch, an awards program honoring companies headquartered in the state of Colorado, is presented by M3 Insurance and hosted by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade. This is the second year in a row that Amadeus Consulting is nominated for this distinction.
The 2011 Colorado Companies to Watch Award acknowledges second-stage companies that are developing valuable products and services, creating quality jobs, enriching communities, and creating new industries throughout the state. Second-stage companies are past the start-up stage but not yet past maturity.
Additionally, companies selected must be privately held, employ six to 99 workers, generate $750,000 to $50 million in sales or a similar range of working capital and be headquartered in Colorado.
Colorado is quickly becoming a nation-wide leader in fast-growing companies, as well as becoming a technological hub for companies like Oracle, Intel and HP and a breeding ground for start-up companies. According to ColoradoBiz magazine, companies previously nominated for the award have generated nearly $1.3 billion in revenue and added 1,400 employees - a 200 percent increase in revenue and 163 percent increase in jobs. In the past year, nominated companies were expected to grow revenue by 44 percent and their work forces by 18 percent.
The process to be nominated for the Colorado Companies to Watch is quite rigorous, the company must first be nominated (internally or externally) and once nominated, submit to two rounds of information. The first round consists of demographics about the company: growth, size, etc. The second round is where the companies talk about what sets them apart: how they are passionate, how they market themselves, what are the critical points in their history. Once the submission process is complete, a committee selects the final recipients of the award.
"A major contributor to our success is our commitment to the philosophy that "Everything is Possible" which helps the company maintain an entrepreneurial feel by taking on projects no one believes can be done," comments Lisa Calkins, CEO of Amadeus Consulting.
This past year, Amadeus Consulting was on the cutting edge of technological innovation, creating solutions for companies using the most current technology platforms available for mobile application development such as iPhone , iPad , Android , and Microsoft Surface .
Nominees of the award will have several opportunities to get to know one another, as the committee hosts Finalist receptions and will present the final awards at a reception yet to be announced.
