The Limits of Social Media - Why Business to Business Interfacing Isn't Dead

ActionCOACH Nagui Bihelek encourages B2B Interfacing Opportunities.

CALGARY, AB, March 27, 2011

Local business expert and ActionCOACH Nagui Bihelek, a speaker participating in April's B2B Expo in Calgary, had this to say about the need for business-to-business interfacing, when so much of business is conducted online.

"Social Media is great but it's not complete. It's only a part of the whole. It provides a wealth of content and bridges communication across the globe. Yet business owners are looking for more than that - we have a multitude of senses; Smell, Taste, Sight, Touch and so on. Social media is very auditory - that means you need to like to read, and you need to spend a lot of time at the computer. I think we're fooling ourselves if we think that social media will somehow solve all of our marketing problems. Business will always be about people, and face-to-face meetings have a value that can never be underestimated," says Bihelek.

Bihelek goes on to say: "I once worked for someone who said 'Sometimes email gets in the way of good communication' and she was absolutely right. How many of us have had weeks of pointless emails going back and forth, with neither side really listening to the other, and then it all becomes clear--with one phone call? Don't get me wrong: I am not saying a business, especially a local business, should forgo Facebook or Twitter. Far from it. I am saying they are not cure-alls. And neighborhoods where the businesses work together thrive together."

Nagui Bihelek and ActionCOACH will be speaking at the B2B Interchange Networking and EXPO event on April 6, 2011 from 6:00pm-9:30pm at the Palliser Hotel in Calgary (133 9th avenue SW) . The Expo will be benefiting the Calgary Arts Summer School Association. Tickets are $30.00.
