Access Media 3 Enters Agreement to Acquire Peoples Choice Cable Assets in South Florida

Triple play media service provider Access Media 3 is acquiring TV and internet assets from Peoples Choice Cable of South Florida. This deal adds 7000 subscribers in 180 MDU buildings to AM3's customer base and moves AM3 beyond its Midwest markets.

2011-03-31
HIGHLAND PARK, IL, March 31, 2011 (Press-News.org) Fueled by a recent infusion of funds for expansion, Access Media 3 today announced a deal to acquire certain TV and internet assets from Peoples Choice Cable in South Florida, a major provider of satellite TV and high-speed internet services. The acquisition of Peoples Choice Cable brings AM3 approximately 7,000 new subscribers in 180 buildings located between Miami and West Palm Beach, Florida.

The Peoples Choice acquisition greatly expands AM3's footprint, nearly doubling its addressable market. This acquisition further solidifies Access Media 3's standing as a leading partner of DIRECTV in the multi-dwelling unit (MDU) market (apartment and condominiums), and positions AM3 to grow beyond its established markets in Chicago and Minneapolis.

"With this deal, Access Media 3 will bring its extensive product knowledge to a new regional market, while leveraging an already strong operational team currently in place," said Scott Rediger, AM3 CEO who was recently named to the Board of Advisors for DIRECTV's MDU Division. "By blending our innovative media and telecom services and our strong relationships with property managers, management companies and building owners, we plan to pursue the same growth strategy that has been successful for us in the Midwest. Further, we expect to expand the product offerings to the new customer base, and grow our sales force to offer much needed quality triple play services to the entire south Florida market."

Mr. Rediger added that AM3 will continue its aggressive growth plans to develop its existing markets, while looking to expand to other markets that are lacking quality competitive providers. AM3 provides MDU property management with triple-play media services, bundling television, high-speed internet, and voice service into affordable and highly customizable packages. AM3 is the largest non-franchised triple-play provider in the Midwest, with approximately 35,000 subscribers in more than 300 buildings in the metropolitan areas of Chicago and Minneapolis/St. Paul. In 2010, AM3 received DIRECTV's Highest Year-to-Year Growth Award.
