FUQUAY-VARINA, NC, April 02, 2011 (Press-News.org) Strafe Gaming Lounge, open since October of 2010, is not just a member of the community but also gives back. From sponsorship of local athletic teams and charitable events to in-house affordable family-friendly and fundraising events, Strafe Gaming Lounge is very involved in the neighborhood of Fuquay-Varina and surrounding towns. Strafe takes a new approach to community support by bringing smiles to the activities they promote.
Strafe Gaming Lounge's sponsorship of over half a dozen Fuquay-Varina Athletic Association teams includes the traditional donation, but Strafe goes beyond the sponsorship requirements by attending games with characters such as Mario and Sonic who cheer for the kids from the sideline and entertain families throughout the day. Fundraisers and charity events are also among the list of Strafe supported activities. Strafe recently sponsored the Fuquay-Varina High School fundraiser "Fuquay Bengals 5k", donated prize baskets of fun Strafe stuff like t-shirts, free gaming vouchers and drink mugs to Fuquay-Varina Middle school and Morrisville Square Creative School. Strafe even partnered with a local company, Jump & Laugh, to support the "Fundraiser for Graham", a charity carnival for a Holly Springs High School student with bone cancer where Strafe provided characters and Jump & Laugh provided an inflatable bounce house to enhance he carnival atmosphere. Strafe will be hosting the "Avon's Walk for Breast Cancer" charity event in April and donating characters for the "Jog 4 John 5K¬" in Holly Springs in May. Strafe continually seeks good efforts to support, but doesn't stop at donations and sponsorships.
Strafe also creates smiles by hosting many affordable family-friendly events. Beginning in April, every Sunday Strafe will be holding SunDay Family FunDay. Strafe will partner with Jump & Laugh to offer bounce houses, character appearances and gaming, providing families with local, affordable fun activities on Sundays when most families would have to travel out of Fuquay-Varina to participate in such fun. The Family FunDay will help support the community by bringing people together and keeping the economics local. Other community-friendly activities Strafe hosts are preschool play, a time-slot devoted for children 3-5 to play in a safe atmosphere, structured track-out and summer camps and other family friendly events like contests and tournaments.
Co-Owner of Strafe, Paxton Galvanek, says "the local community has embraced our unique gaming lounge concept and Strafe is trying to give back to that community. Between Strafe's sponsorships, donations and our family activities, Strafe is trying to make a positive impact on families all around the Fuquay-Varina area. It's amazing to see children's faces light up when Mario or Sonic arrive at a local fundraiser or event, it makes us feel like we truly giving something back."
Strafe makes every attempt to not only give back to the community, but to put smiles on faces at the same time. It is their efforts to include the community and families in their events that has enriched the local community of Fuquay-Varina.
