West Michigan Symphony to Hold Auditions for 2011-12 Season
The West Michigan Symphony will hold open auditions for 15 positions as well as substitute positions May 9-11.

The West Michigan Symphony will hold open auditions for 15 positions as well as substitute positions May 9-11.One of Michigan's leading regional symphonies, WMS will hold auditions for chairs for violin, viola, cello, bass, oboe, bassoon, horn and piano/celeste. The Symphony will also hold substitute auditions for all instruments.
Preliminary auditions are scheduled for:
• Monday, May 9, in East Lansing on the Michigan State University campus
• Tuesday, May 11, in Muskegon at the Frauenthal Center for the Performing Arts
• Wednesday, May 12 in Kalamazoo on the Western Michigan University campus
The audition repertoire list is online at http://www.westmichigansymphony.org. Preliminary auditions require an appointment, which can be reserved by contacting Gabe Slimko at gslimko@westmichigansymphony.org.
Candidates who advance to the finals will be notified the week of May 16. The Symphony will require the same repertoire for the finals, which will be held on May 31 and June 1at the Frauenthal.
