The new heater, aptly named the Bedbug Chaser , uses an accelerated convective heat transfer process and allows air to flow 360 degrees horizontally and vertically ensuring a space is heated evenly and quickly. The Bedbug Chaser weighs 71 lbs., making it light enough to be transported by a single technician. At the same time, it is built to withstand years of service, backed by the legendary Avtron quality since 1953, the Cleveland, Ohio, manufacturer said.
Convection is really a combination of diffusion and the bulk motion of molecules. When heating something, the density change in the outer most surface will cause the air to rise and be replaced by cooler air that again will heat and rise. Since the Bedbug Chaser accelerates air flow on two axes simultaneously, it allows diffusion to occur at a much faster rate and creates a quicker density change on the surface of an object. More simply, the new design accelerates the convection process producing supercharged heating!
The Bedbug Chaser incorporates lightweight aluminized steel construction and fully rated quick-connect load terminals. The unit is equipped with dolly style wheels and a handle to allow for the easy transport of multiple units to any job site. The heater is rated for continuous operation with more than double the BTU output than any other unit in its size range. The Bedbug Chaser was designed to be lighter, smaller and more powerful than any similar heater currently in the market, Avtron said.
