Patient Safety & Quality Healthcare Launches New Patient Safety Education & Training Directory

Patient Safety & Quality Healthcare is publishing a new Directory of patient safety educational and training programs

2011-04-09
MARIETTA, GA, April 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) Patient Safety & Quality Healthcare is pleased to announce, the 2011 Patient Safety Education & Training Directory, a new information resource for the healthcare industry. Patient Safety & Quality Healthcare is a bi-monthly publication focused on strategies, programs, products and policies that can directly improve patient safety and the quality of healthcare delivery. The 2011 Patient Safety Education & Training Directory will include updated information on educational institutions and organizations in the United States that provide patient safety courses, certificates, degrees or training programs. The Directory will be published with the May/June issue of Patient Safety & Quality Healthcare and the website http://www.psqh.com.

Improving patient safety is one of the most urgent issues facing the healthcare industry today, but most medical schools have not taught patient safety as a science or provided new clinicians with the communication skills they need to work effectively with team members and patients. Recently, numerous universities and colleges have expanded their patient safety course and degree offerings to better prepare their students to promote a culture of patient safety.

The 2011 Patient Safety Education & Training Directory will list major educational institutions and organizations that offer patient safety training, educational courses and degree programs. Each listing will include the types of courses/training programs offered; credit hours earned, course specifics, degree or certification, admission requirements, deadlines and detailed contact information. The Directory will be available at no charge on the Patient Safety & Quality Healthcare website at http://www.psqh.com in June

About Patient Safety & Quality Healthcare: Each issue of Patient Safety & Quality Healthcare covers timely topics and issues that are impacting patient safety and the quality of healthcare delivered at hospitals and other medical settings. Reports of patient safety best practices and case studies inform healthcare readers of successful patient safety programs. PSQH is written by leading industry experts for upper level hospital executives, physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals including Patient Safety Officers, Risk Managers and Quality Directors.
