HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA, April 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) These days, music is repetitive and derivative; sometimes, it doesn't make sense. Where's the story, the characters, the emotion? Fortunately, there's 25-year-old Ryan Leimkuhler, a singer-songwriter who concocts tunes and melodies filled with stories, characters, and emotions that will stay with you and are guaranteed that you will never forget.
Orange County, California is a city known for its beaches, bikini-clad ladies, and surfer dudes, and you'd expect a musician from here to maybe write about the sand, sea, and surf. Not Ryan Leimkuhler. His music is a mix of folk, Americana, blues, and elements of traditional country music and he has a distinctive sound, replete with lush harmonies, soulful vocals, and most importantly, evocative storytelling. Leimkuhler cites Bob Dylan, John Denver, and Bruce Springsteen as his musical influences - bastions of the art of storytelling set to noteworthy and timeless music.
On Ryan Leimkuhler's new CD 'No Ceiling', he introduces colorful characters and wild scenarios, as we follow him down the long road to redemption. If you ever feel like you're in a rut, that you're going nowhere, and you've lost hope, let Ryan Leimkuhler's music jolt you to awareness, re-ignite your wanderlust, and even steer you back to your dreams. Leimkuhler was joined by Jeff McCaughey on 'No Ceiling' - he is the front man and lead guitar specialist of up-and-coming East Coast reggae band, Kings and Comrades. Jeff McCaughey contributed fast and furious blues guitar riffs on the tracks 'The Streets Are Ours', 'Promises', and 'Mansions'. All of Ryan Leimkuhler's songs would not have been complete without the three-part harmonies provided by the talented sister-tandem of Miriam Bernard and Marjorie Tavis.
Currently, Ryan Leimkuhler is regularly touring in Southern California. He has garnered a strong following; he's one of those rare artists who sound just as good live as he does on record. Plus, a Leimkuhler performance is not just considered a gig - it's an intimate and personal experience.
This 2011, Ryan Leimkuhler releases his first full-length album 'No Ceiling' which features 15 newly recorded songs. It is distributed via JMD Records and INgrooves (a partner of Universal Music Group.)
