Miles For Hope Comes to Boston to Walk for Brain Tumor Awareness And to Raise Funds For Research

Miles For Hope, Inc. holds a Moving Towards a Cure Brain Tumor 5K Awareness Walk/Run in Boston to raise funds for research and transportation assistance to brain tumor patients

CLEARWATER, FL, April 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) Miles For Hope, Inc. will hold its second annual Moving Towards a Cure Brain Tumor 5K Awareness Walk/Run on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 10 am at Artesani Park in Brighton, MA. Over 300 supporters are expected to participate. Proceeds will fund brain tumor research and provide travel assistance to brain tumor patients.

"In order to raise awareness of such options as brain tissue storage and access to cutting-edge clinical trials and treatments, we rely on our Moving Towards A Cure events to provide a vehicle for communities to become involved and help fund better treatments for this deadly disease, " says Barb Gibbs, co-founder and Executive Director of Miles for Hope. Gibbs is also the wife of the organization's founder, Bob Gibbs, who is a brain tumor survivor.

The event is open to all ages. Same-day registration is at 9 am, event begins at 10 am. Registration is $20 registration fee for adults until May 1, $25 after May 1. Registration is free for children under 5 years. Participants can walk/run individually or form a team. Post-event celebration to follow the race and includes an award presentation, remembering those battling brain tumor disease as well as those who lost their battle.
