Head of Information Services at Birmingham Airport joins list of speakers at the 3rd Cloud Computing World Forum

Wayne Smith, Head of Information Services at Birmingham Airport, has joined the line-up of exceptional speakers at this years' 3rd Cloud Computing World Forum, taking place on the 21st & 22nd June at Olympia, London.

BRISTOL, ENGLAND, April 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) Wayne Smith, Head of Information Services at Birmingham Airport, has joined the line-up of exceptional speakers at this years' 3rd Cloud Computing World Forum, taking place on the 21st & 22nd June at Olympia, London.

One of the UK's largest airports, Birmingham International recently took the leap into cloud computing by virtualising their server estate under the guidance of Mr Smith. This switch was undertaken to improve efficiency, lower costs and bring the airport back into a position of growth; so far proving a fruitful move.

At the forum, Mr Smith will be presenting a case study entitled 'Birmingham Airports Virtualisation Project,' which will touch on why his organisation made the move to virtualise and why others can too, the process required to move a business into the clouds, and the outcomes and results. The case study will take place in the Build Theatre on Day Two of the conference.
