CAPE CORAL, FL, April 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) With the sub-zero temperatures in the North, many people are running to the beautiful sunshine of Southwest Florida to keep them warm. However, Cape Coral Eye Center is now also depending on Florida's most abundant resource to keep them cool! Fafco Solar, a Cape Coral solar electric company, announces the recent installation of a Hybrid Solar Air Conditioner in Cape Coral Eye Center's location at 18770 N Tamiami Trail North Fort Myers, FL. Although patients may still need to shade their eyes from the sun following treatment, the building itself is welcoming all the sunshine it can get.
"We strongly believe in doing our part to conserve energy and promote sustainability in Southwest Florida," said Dr. Farrell Tyson of Cape Coral Eye Centers. "We hope that other area businesses will follow our example in the decision to "go green", and harness their energy for air conditioning from the sun. With sunshine being such a plentiful resource in Southwest Florida, we feel that taking advantage of solar energy is such an obvious solution. It allows us to conserve energy, as well as cut down on our cooling costs."
The hybrid solar air conditioning system is different from a solar electric system, which produces electricity. The solar air conditioning systems use evacuated tubes to generate heat in the solar collector. This super-heats an environmentally friendly refrigerant to make the cooling process more efficient, and actually reduces the amount of electricity required to cool your home.
"Air conditioning is a necessity here in Southwest Florida, so why not install the most energy efficient system available?", said Dominick Zito, Sales manager, Fafco Solar. "The Hybrid Solar Air Conditioning technology has been in service throughout the world, but is just making it's way to the United States. We have a number of residential and small commercial installations up and running. We are excited about Cape Coral Eye Center's decision to cool their building using the sun's energy, and hope that other businesses and homes throughout Southwest Florida continue to follow this trend."
