Church of Scientology Tampa In New Ybor Square Facility To Host Open House

Church of Scientology Tampa (http://www.scientology-tampa.org) in its newly restored Ybor Square facility to host open house April 16 and 17th.

2011-04-15
TAMPA, FL, April 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) Church of Scientology Tampa (http://www.scientology-tampa.org)
will host an Open House on April 16th and 17th at its new facility in Ybor Square, former home of the historic Ybor Cigar Factory - the company that ignited Tampa and turned the small fishing village of the 1800's of under 4,000 people into the Cigar Capital of the World with some 200 cigar companies and 12,000 cigar workers at the turn of the 20th century.

The Church of Scientology's Open House will feature tours through the historic building and will showcase the Church of Scientology's Volunteer Minister program - a program fueled by 80,000 volunteers of the Church of Scientology who assist victims of disasters at places such as Japan and Haiti as well as families and children throughout the communities around the world in the small disasters that plague our neighborhoods with drugs, illiteracy, immorality and crime.

The Open House will run from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday at 1911 13th Street in the National Historic neighborhood of Ybor City with a recreation of the famous yellow Volunteer Minister tent in the Courtyard of Ybor Square. The tent will be used to demonstrate what Volunteer Ministers do day in and day out to help families and children, to relieve stress and improve relationships.

The Scientology Volunteer Minister (http://www.volunteerministers.org) program was initiated by Scientology Founder, L. Ron Hubbard in the 1970's to create an army of ministers with this motivation: "A Volunteer Minister does not shut his eyes to the pain, evil and injustice of existence. Rather, he is trained to handle these things and help others achieve relief from them and new personal strength as well."

The Church celebrated the Grand Opening in Ybor Square on March 13th 1911 - a day dedicated to L. Ron Hubbard and the centennial of his birth.

The Church of Scientology of Tampa (http://www.scientology-tampa.org) is one in a series of new Ideal Scientology Church Organizations ("Ideal Orgs"). Ideal Orgs realize the fulfillment of Founder L. Ron Hubbard's vision for the religion and its Churches. Ideal Orgs not only provide the ideal facilities to service Scientologists on their spiritual ascent, but they are also designed to serve as a home for the entire community and a meeting ground of cooperative effort to uplift citizens of all denominations.
