NORFOLK, ENGLAND, April 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) Norwich based business Anglian Home Improvements were involved last night in a very challenging yet rewarding renovating project on popular BBC show DIY SOS.
The first episode of this season's DIY SOS saw presenter Nick Knowles and his team head to Aberystwyth, West Wales, to help builder Michael Saunders transform his ex-council house into a family home.
Anglian, who actively support communities across the UK and had previously took part in DIY SOS challenges in Southampton and Nottingham in past editions of the show, provided the windows for the building project and joined the local community in Aberystwyth in a battle against extreme weather conditions.
The show saw the BBC team, local trades and volunteers turn the building site into a comfortable home in only ten days in an attempt to improve the life of the Saunders family.
Melanie McDonald, Head of Marketing and Communications for Anglian Home Improvements, said: "We were delighted when the BBC approached Anglian, yet again, to help and support them through another 'Big Build' project. There are very few opportunities to promote your products and services on the BBC network and this was a great way of installing Anglian product into the home of a very well deserving couple. The fitting team who took part worked incredibly hard to ensure the build deadlines were met and at the end reveal with the Saunders family there were more than a few tears from many of the contractors who had taken part and made this dream come true."
DIY SOS is broadcast on BBC 1 on Wednesdays at 7.30pm.
For over 40 years Anglian has been renowned amongst UK homeowners as the leading specialist in home improvements.
Founded in 1966 and with over a million satisfied customers, Anglian offers an extensive range of home improvement products, including windows, UPVC doors, conservatories, driveways, garage conversions, kitchens and roof-line products.
