LateRooms.com - See Rising Star Jamie Woon Live in Munich

Jamie Woon will travel to Munich shortly after the release of his highly anticipated debut album.

2011-04-21
MUNICH, GERMANY, April 21, 2011 (Press-News.org) Up-and-coming singer Jamie Woon is set to perform live at the Atomic Cafe in Munich next month.

The 27-year-old Londoner has been tipped for big things by a host of music industry experts since 2007, when his Wayfaring Stranger EP received a low-key release.

Last year's Night Air single was equally well received by critics and Woon now looks poised to fulfil his promise with Mirrorwriting, his debut album for Polydor Records.

After the LP hits the shops on Monday April 18th, Woon is due to head out on the road and will play four shows in Germany, including his date in Munich on Monday May 9th.

The songwriter's music pairs his distinctive, soul-inflected croon with minimalist electronic compositions that draw inspiration from club culture and the UK's dubstep scene.

Night Air was co-produced by enigmatic dubstep artist Burial, who also provided a remix of Wayfaring Stranger - Woon's take on the traditional British folk standard.

The performer's ties with the dance music genre have seen him compared with another hotly tipped young artist from London, James Blake.

Like the latter musician, Woon appeared in the top five of the BBC's influential Sound of 2011 poll and both artists have seen their music described as 'post-dubstep'.

With Blake having released his debut album to considerable acclaim in February, the spotlight looks ready to shift to Woon.

Fans wishing to attend his show in Munich can purchase tickets online for EUR14.20 (GBP12.40) plus booking fee. Doors are due to open at 20:00 local time.

LateRooms.com offers a large selection of Munich hotels that should appeal to concert-goers, including the Hotel Leonardo Munich.
