MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, April 24, 2011 (Press-News.org) Works from some of the world's best new and independent movie makers will be presented at the 2011 Over the Fence Comedy Film Festival in Perth.

The event is now in its 14th year but remains dedicated to its original goal of championing the grassroots film industry and providing a forum for new pictures to be showcased.

Although it takes place in Perth, Over the Fence broadened its horizons from the Western Australia capital in 2000 by touring across the country. It began calling at a number of international locations in 2003.

In 2008, the organisers began using the festival to screen films from overseas directors, rather than focusing solely on Australian pieces.

This year's event is set to run from May 21st to 27th at the Cinema Paradiso in Northbridge.

The venue is located on James Street in the heart of the popular Northbridge cafe and bar district. It boasts four screens that have been designed in a European style.

A full touring programme containing a list of other towns and cities that will host this year's Over the Fence is set to be released in June.
