Dade Medical College Welcomed House Majority Leader Eric Cantor to its Miami Campus

Congressman Cantor Had the Opportunity to Tour Dade Medical College and See First-Hand the Campus' Educational Advancements

MIAMI, FL, April 27, 2011 (Press-News.org) Dade Medical College recently welcomed House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) to its Miami campus. Representative Cantor toured the campus to see first-hand Dade Medical College's healthcare education advancements.

Dade Medical College offers a host of innovative and interactive programs such as diagnostic cardiac sonography, radiology, medical billing and coding and more. They also have a fully-accredited Nursing School and a newly created School of Continuing Education, for professionals seeking to maintain licensure.

Career colleges are becoming increasingly popular options for postsecondary studies. According to the Florida Association of Post Secondary Schools and Colleges (FAPSC), approximately 60% of Florida's healthcare employees have been trained at career colleges like Dade Medical College, whose focus is an outcome-based education.

During the tour, the Congressman remarked that he was very impressed with the Miami Campus and with Dade Medical College. Not only do these types of institutions provide educational opportunities for all members of the community, but they also provide jobs that will help fill the demands of the proposed healthcare reforms.

With more than 400 full-time employees staffing Dade Medical College's four area campuses and corporate office, the school features a fully-licensed and certified faculty whose commitment to excellence in education are unmatched by other area colleges and institutions. A majority of the faculty and administrative staff originates locally, with many having been educated at prestigious local and national institutions. The college offers Associate of Science degrees in programs such as nursing, radiology, diagnostic cardiac sonography, medical billing and coding and more.
