Parents get "Schooled" on How to Help Their College Grad Find a Job!

Online workshop for parents who really want to help their grad get that first job in the professional world.

2011-04-27
RICHFIELD, OH, April 27, 2011 (Press-News.org) The online workshop,Knock em Dead Secrets and Strategies for Parents Helping New Graduates Succeed in an Uncertain Job Market will be presented by Martin Yate CPC, the New York Times bestselling career author, on Wednesday June 1st at 7:30 EDT. Details of the workshop hosted by TalentMarks can be found at http://www.talentmarks.com/yate.aspx

With 2.7 million college graduates soon to receive their diplomas, only 20% will have a job by graduation day, and 80% will be moving home with mom and dad - to start looking for a job. It's a miserable job market for graduates again this year as the National Association of Colleges and Employers surveys are showing employers may be hiring only 19% more grads from the Class of 2011 than they did last year.

The parents of college graduates have a vested interest in their son or daughter getting a job. Not only have they often made a huge investment, every parent is anxious to see their children begin to make their own way in the world, and move out of the house!

Yate says, "A successful career is no longer a given in the twenty-first century; it doesn't come as a gift with a college diploma." He continues, "In the three decades I've been in the career management profession, I've never seen a more challenging job market than the one entry level professionals are facing today."

High unemployment doesn't mean grads from the Class of 2011 won't get a job.

With the right skills, branding and knowledge on how to successfully use Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and other Social Media tools, graduates can stand out in this crowded job market.
According to Don Philabaum, CEO of TalentMarks, "Surveys show parents desperately want to help their kids make a successful transition into the adult professional world, yet few understand how job search and the professional world have changed."

Philabaum continues, "So parents feel helpless and unable to do anything. But with the right information, parents can play a significant role in helping their kids make a successful transition into the professional world." He concludes, "Martin Yate is unique in the career management world: Global reputation, unsurpassed understanding of the topic, real compassion, a warm wit and an uncanny ability to simplify the unknown and quickly show parents how they can be a resource to their kids. He'll give parents what they need to know - to help their grads find a job."

Parents interested in helping their college graduate succeed in their job search can register at http://www.talentmarks.com/yate.aspx Connections are severely limited and offered on a first come first serve basis.
