Von Moltke and Bell Roar Into Salt Lake for Rolex Car Series Finale

Von Moltke looks to win Rookie of the Year and Trueman Award Honors

2010-09-12
ATLANTA, GA, September 12, 2010 (Press-News.org) Dion von Moltke, completing his first full season in the Daytona Prototype class, and rising star Matt Bell are looking to cap off a strong Rolex Car Series season this weekend at the Utah 500 at Miller Motorsports Park. Dion and Matt will be racing in the #77 McDonalds/South African Airways/PR Newswire Doran Racing Ford Dallara. The duo teamed up for the first time in July at the NJMP 250 and finished sixth at that race. Bell, who had never raced before in a DP, earned the coveted Jim Trueman Award at that race as Dion had done earlier in the season. Now, as the Rolex Car Series draws to an end at the Utah 500, the team is looking to complete the season with a strong finish.

"I am really pumped for the Utah 500!" said Dion. "I could not be more excited than to be driving with Matt Bell. Each race is a challenge but having a skilled co-driver such as Matt gives a feeling of confidence and an added advantage as we close this exciting season." Dion continues; "I really must thank all the sponsors and fans that have supported me and Doran Racing this season. Without them none of this would be possible!"

Dion has scored nine Top-10 finishes in 11 of the 12 races of the 2010 season and is looking to end the season this weekend with momentum as the team vies for their first podium of the 2010 racing season. Always a strong fan and media draw, von Moltke remains a leading contender in the DP Class for the coveted Rookie of the Year and Jim Trueman Awards, and going into the final round stands in second place overall in both categories.

"The chance to end the Rolex Car Series alongside my friend and fellow-racer Dion is an honor and pleasure," said Matt Bell. "We showed our potential at the NJMP 250 and I know that we will finish the Utah 250 even stronger now having a race under my belt and a better understanding of the car and the task at hand."

Bell last year tied the Continental Tire Challenge Series record with 5 pole positions in one season. The streak for Bell has continued in 2010 as Bell has brought Camaro its first Pole Position and Podium since their return to racing sharing the #6 Sunoco Stevenson Camaro with co-driver Jeff Bucknum.

The Utah 500 is the final race of the GRAND-AM Rolex Car Series for 2010. Held at the Miller Motorsports Park on September 10-12 at Tooele, Utah, the race is expected to attract racing fans from across the world.
