Look 12 Years Younger with a Facelift in Dallas
2011-05-01
SOUTHLAKE, TX, May 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) A study published in the Journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery finds that on average, patients report looking almost 12 years younger following certain facial plastic surgery procedures. Dr. Michael Bogdan (http://www.drmichaelbogdan.com), a board-certified plastic surgeon performing facelift surgery in Dallas, has reviewed the study and has compared the findings to his own practice.

"Some comments about this study may focus entirely on facelift surgery, but that's not quite accurate," explains Dr. Bogdan. "The authors actually took a broader look at several combinations of procedures that each included a facelift component. Their data comes from interviews with facial rejuvenation patients after surgery; that's why this study was so compelling for me, because it's the perspective of patients that really matters."

Interviewing 93 patients in 4 groups (face lift alone; face lift and blepharoplasties; face lift and forehead lift; and face lift, blepharoplasties, and endoscopic forehead lift) at 1 month after surgery, researchers asked several questions. They gathered patient feedback about recovery from surgery, results of surgery, psychological effects and more. Patients in the study reported that they saw an average 11.9 year reduction in their apparent age.

"While looking younger is important, there are other factors that interested me more and resonated more with my own experience as a plastic surgeon in Dallas. Namely, these factors were patient satisfaction and quality of life. My perspective is that a facelift isn't so much about turning back the clock as it is about feeling confident and refreshed. That's what I tell my patients they can expect, and that's what I seek to deliver."

In addition to facial plastic surgery, Dr. Bogdan performs a variety of other cosmetic procedures. Among his most popular options are body contouring procedures such as tummy tuck and liposuction and breast enhancement procedures such as breast augmentation in Dallas,. Men and women choose his practice because of his advanced training, board-certification, and compassionate care.

"Plastic surgery is about transforming perspective as much as appearance," says Dr. Bogdan. "It's about much more than making breasts larger or tummies smaller. On a deeper level, plastic surgery grows confidence and eases the frustration of seeing an exterior that does not match your internal sense of self."

Dr. Michael A. Bogdan (http://www.drmichaelbogdan.com) is a board certified plastic surgeon specializing in plastic surgery in Dallas. He received his medical doctorate and completed his residency at Stanford University and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has two offices to serve Dallas/Fort Worth patients, one in Southlake and the other in Dallas.
