MCIPE Constructors & Professional Engineers Acquires Architectural and Engineering Firms in the Southeast

MCIPE Constructors & Professional Engineers of Atlanta, Georgia joined forces with several southeastern architectural and engineering divisions, the companies announced Monday.

2011-05-02
ATLANTA, GA, May 02, 2011 (Press-News.org) Atlanta-based MCIPE Constructors & Professional Engineers has joined forces with the architectural and engineering divisions of several southeastern real estate development companies.

MCIPE Constructors & Professional Engineers of Atlanta, Georgia joined forces with several southeastern architectural and engineering divisions, the companies announced Monday.

Each company will retain their name and continue to have offices in their respective cities. Some of
these locations include: Savannah, GA; Augusta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; Greensboro, NC; Charleston, SC, Columbia, SC; Greenville, SC; Tallahassee, FL; Miami, FL; Orlando, FL; Tampa, FL; Huntington, WV; Washington, DC; Mobile, AL.

MCIPE Constructors has joined forces with other similar companies through out the country before.
Chief executive officer of the employee-owned company, said MCIPE Constructors has "over 1000" employees.

Its staff members include engineers, architects, planners, surveyors and environmental scientists, as well as global information system specialists.

The Georgia-based firm has done a lot of work in municipal planning and engineering including helping towns find money for projects while these other companies have tended to do more private-sector commercial work. Now, the local operations will be more diversified.

Chief executive of MCIPE Constructors said the purchase of these companies followed a strategic review of business commissioned early this year.

The review indicated MCIPE Constructors should consider strategic alliances with these architectural and engineering companies.

A consulting firm, Jefferson-Morrrisey, suggested MCIPE Constructors is a good cultural fit for these companies.

Both MCIPE Constructors and these companies offered a multitude of professional services and stressed "single-source solutions" for clients.

Plus, MCIPE Constructors has been considering ways to make equity participation available to the employees of these new companies. Now they'll be able to take part in MCIPE Constructors' employee stock ownership plan, Harrington said.

Owen said MCIPE Constructors has several hundreds of millions in annual revenues, compared with about $3 million in annual revenues for each of these companies.

MCIPE Constructors began operations as a surveying and engineering partnership. After several name changes, it reorganized as MCIPE Constructors & Professional Engineers.

MCIPE Constructors also has several offices and affiliations in: Texas, Arizona, California, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Colorado and other US States.
