MIAMI, FL, May 04, 2011 (Press-News.org) Despite some slight falls, gold is remaining comfortably above $1500 an ounce and market analysts are confident that short-term corrections will have no major impact on gold's upward trend.
"We are certainly not seeing the volatility with gold that we have seen in silver over the last 24 hours," says Bill Hionas, CEO of Pan American Metals of Miami (PAMOM). "Profit-taking is partly responsible for paring some of the gains made by gold in recent days."
Recent weeks have seen the precious metals market heading nowhere but straight up, with seemingly no end in sight. Gold has always been the choice for investors looking for a hedge against inflation or worried by the threat of a possible US dollar collapse. Most investors have included gold, and other precious metals, in their portfolios and will continue to do so, regardless of any temporary strengthening in the buying power of the dollar.
"Our clients are extremely happy with their portfolios at this time," says Debbie Bailey, executive administrator at Pan American Metals. "Pan American's brokers bring a wealth of collective experience to the firm."
At end of trading on Monday, gold closed at $1557.10 an ounce, gaining 70 cents. While the news of Osama Bin Laden's death may have temporarily strengthened the dollar, fears of possible retribution, directed at the United States, have caused the currency to waver again, with a corresponding upswing in the purchase of precious metals, and gold in particular, as a safe haven.

Pan American Metals of Miami Silver Still Set to Reach Record Levels

Silver may have suffered a temporary setback in North American markets, but this does not mean that investors should sell; quite the opposite.

Pan American Metals of Miami Investors Advised to Hold Firm as Bin Laden's Death Produces Drop in Metals Prices
2011-05-04
News of the death of Osama Bin Laden has not brought quite such good news to investors in the precious metals market, but Bill Hionas, CEO of Pan American Metals of Miami, assures investors that Monday's slide does not mean the silver bubble has burst.
"There will always be fluctuations in the commodities market," says Bill Hionas. "News of Bin Laden's death has understandably produced a strengthening in the value of the US dollar and a corresponding weakness in precious metals prices. However, savvy investors will understand this to be a temporary glitch ...
