Shakira began recording and performing music as a teenager in her native Colombia, receiving several industry awards and winning many fans before her first English language album Laundry Service was released in 2001.

She has since become a regular fixture in charts around the world, collaborating with a diverse range of artists including Wyclef Jean, Annie Lennox, Dizzee Rascal and Beyonce.

In Spain, the 34-year-old has received plenty of media attention in recent months as a result of her relationship with Gerard Pique, the Barcelona and Spanish international footballer.

Tickets to see Shakira perform in Bilbao are priced between EUR45 and EUR60 (GBP39.90 and GBP53.20).

The Estadio San Mames, which can hold almost 40,000 people, is the home of La Liga football club Athletic Bilbao.
