WICHITA, KS, May 11, 2011 (Press-News.org) Rides.com is slated to become the premiere online destination for car and motorcycle fanatics from all walks of life. Using cutting edge technology members of the network will be able to enter their rides into virtual online car shows, join clubs, participate in forums, blogs, contests, and more. Additionally, members will earn Horsepower reward points by participating in the online community. Horsepower points will be the virtual currency of Rides.com which can be redeemed in a variety of ways from online upgrades, to prizes and tickets to live events. As members earn Horsepower they will also achieve higher ranks and badges which will build status and credibility within the community.
According to CEO, John Chance, a portion of the revenue generated by the site will be donated monthly to a charity selected with input from the Rides.com community. "The charitable element has always been deeply embedded in the ride culture," says Chance. "Ride owners genuinely enjoy showing off their passion while at the same time benefiting the greater good." Coming from a long line of motorheads, Chance realized that ride enthusiasts aren' t normally interested in just one type of car or motorcycle. "I wanted to build a community where people interested in all types of rides can come together and interact in one place." Chance is no stranger to excitement, for 50 years Chance Rides has provided the world with countless thrills as an internationally renowned amusement ride and roller coaster manufacturer.
To stay up-to-date with their friends' rides, members can interact via their personal profile' s activity feed, message boards, and chat rooms. With unlimited How-To's and Q & A for any type of ride, the Rides.com network will become the top destination where ride lovers can continue to learn about their favorite pastime. "Mankind has always been involved in social networks, from primitive social groups to today's high-tech social networks, our goal is to provide the ultimate online environment where people can socialize about their passion for rides," said Chance. Rides.com was designed on a customized software platform which allows users to interact with the community as a whole or in a focused group dedicated to a specific type of ride. Furthermore, members will be encouraged to bring their events online through mobile tools that will allow members to upload photos and stream content while at live events around the world.
The network is scheduled to launch early Summer 2011. The Rides.com network is currently being custom developed by ONEsite, the firm known for creating the highly successful social networks for Nascar.com, Speedtv.com, and AmericanIdol.com to name a few. Rides.com is allowing the public to pre-register at their website Rides.com. All pre-registrants will earn 100 Horsepower points and a chance to win an iPad 2 loaded with the best ride apps.
