HALLANDALE, FL, August 16, 2010 (Press-News.org) In a desert city better known for its adult-oriented entertainment than for its virtuosity, there is an oasis of innocence and purity that's providing the America's preschoolers with a wealth of knowledge and a universal paradigm of ethics.
For the WOB (the World of Babies; http://www.thewob.com/demo), a Las Vegas-based company, it's a crapshoot on success; a gamble that, in a world earmarked by terrorism, corruption and rampant illiteracy, parents will embrace an online service that will teach their kids everything from language arts and math to multicultural awareness and manners. But the dice have turned up a 7 in the WOB's first roll. "Parents and kids have really taken to the concept in focus groups," says WOB CEO, Rosalind Goly.
"It's all about the kids," says CEO Goly, who's also a grandmother. "We live in a new world that requires a tech-savvy populace. Kids growing up today no longer have the option to 'sit-out' the digital revolution. The WOB helps kids, their parents and even their technophobic grandparents easily transition to the future; a future of unlimited potential both personally and professionally."
And now that Las Vegas' Mayor Oscar B. Goodman has agreed to become the official Mayor of WOBville, Goly's virtual world is looking more vibrant than ever.
Despite his colorful personality, Mayor Goodman clearly has soft spot for kids. In fact, Goodman is a doting grandfather. When asked about his favorite part of being the Mayor (of Las Vegas and WobVille) Goodman was simply ebullient. "I love to tell the children how important is that they do well in school... in particular in their reading. Because if a child learns how to read, they're able to do anything for the rest of their life," said Goodman. "They're able to succeed and have all their dreams come true."
