Motorcycle Angels Foundation: Just In Time For Summer

Summer activities are vastly approaching: The Official Motorcycle Angels, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, that raises funds for motorcycle riders with serious injuries & stresses the importance of riding and driving education.

LITTLETON, CO, May 13, 2011

With summer approaching America's motorcyclists are hungry to get back out on the roads, tracks and trails in full force! Often motorcycle riders gather in large groups for various benefactors. All riders whether a chopper rider, Harley rider, crotch rocket, flattrack, or motocross rider, know the passion of getting on a motorcycle, twisting that throttle, revving the engine to feel the power and thump of the bike beneath them. With so many motorcycle activities and events beginning, now is the most important time for Motorcycle Angels to raise funds for injured riders.

The sport or hobby of motorcycling is a very dangerous sport or leisure activity. Riders often get hurt with no one to turn to for help in times of serious crisis. It is well known that "after" an accident typically it is up to the friends, family and fellow riders to pull together in order to gather funds to help injured riders. Motorcycle Angels is there to help facilitate the efforts and monetary donations allowing the family, rider, dependents or others to focus on the healing aspects and less on the financial strain.

The Official Motorcycle Angels was founded to raise money for injured motorcycle riders, research into safe technologies and education for safe riding techniques. It is Motorcycle Angels vision to support motorcycle sports both in technological advances that support safe product technology, education and funding for riders in serious crisis caused by motorcycles.

As a 501 (c)3, tax deductible organization, 100% of all cash donations go directly to injured motorcycle riders without any hidden administrative fees. Motorcycle Angels is different from the majority of similar organizations that pull out fees and give only a portion of their donations to injured riders.

The original founder of The Official Motorcycle Angels can be traced to Melissa Zavadil of Littleton, Colorado. A highly active motorcycle enthusiast and mother of three (whom all ride dirtbikes.) Melissa was a professional sports photographer and saw the need for a "union" of some sorts in the professional motorcycling industry but, understood that that concept was most likely not going to form. Melissa designed several angels that could be sold in an effort to raise money for down riders in 2005, and could be viewed as a "motorcycle guardian angel" looking over the rider. She then decided to sell the motorcycle angels to raise money for seriously injured riders.

Assistance awards are based on the severity of injury, number of dependents and the applicant's financial situation. The Official Motorcycle Angels also takes into consideration the individual's involvement in and/or contribution to the sport of riding motorcycles.

"The Fund focuses on those individuals who ride and dedicate their life to it, building a motorcycling support group in an all out effort and joining all motorcycle style riders in their unique Passion." said Melissa Zavadil, President of Motorcycle Angels .

Motorcycle Angels reminds all riders to ride safe this summer, ride defensively....... and have fun! Remember there are always down riders some of which need more help than others.... Be a Rider that helps Riders. If you see unsafe practices don't forget to bring them to the attention of your close friend, it might just save a life!
And look for The Official Motorcycle Angels out there.
