Lake Arrowhead Village to Kick Off Free Summer Concert Series This Weekend!

Lake Arrowhead Village and the Village Merchants Association will kick off their FREE 2011 Lake Arrowhead Village Summer Concert Series this Friday, May 13.

2011-05-14
LAKE ARROWHEAD, CA, May 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) Lake Arrowhead Village and the Village Merchants Association will kick off their FREE 2011 Lake Arrowhead Village Summer Concert Series this Friday, May 13 when the high-energy Rock, Blues and Funk band BacktraXX performs at 6:30 on Center Stage. On Saturday, May 14, Gold Rush Country will bring cutting-edge acoustic country to the stage, also at 6:30 p.m.

BackTraXX was formed in 2007 and within a short time became one of the hottest cover bands in the Inland Empire. They play only the most popular classic rock dance songs from the 70's, 80's and 90's, along with a mixture of blues and funk favorites. Collectively, their musical experience spans decades with performances in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego counties. The band's musical variety, vocal harmonies and remarkable musicianship make them a favorite of every audience! Their high-energy performance has made BackTraXX one of the most exciting bands in southern California. No stranger to Lake Arrowhead's Center Stage, BackTraXX has performed during several previous Spring/Summer Concert shows, as well as benefits for the local community.

Southern California's premier high-energy contemporary country cover band, Gold Rush Country combines the showmanship sensibilities of a classic rock act with the heart and soul of new country. Gold Rush performs today's Top 40 Country Hits. With both female and male lead vocals, a driving rhythm section, seamless vocal harmonies and virtuoso instrumentalists, Gold Rush gives audiences the rush and dazzle of a true concert experience. At a Gold Rush performance, you will see feet tapping and folks two-stepping and hollering their enthusiasm to the band and each other as the hits keep coming all night long.

Underwritten by the Lake Arrowhead Village and the Village Merchants Association, Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc., KOLA 99.9 FM, the Rim of the World Historical Society and Ontario Reign, the concert lineup will also feature popular solo artists such as Leif Garrett and Antonio Pontarelli and renowned groups like The English Beat, Ambrosia, Venice, Naked Eyes, Spazmatics, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, the Jay Blues Band and Martha Davis & the Motels.
Talented tribute bands will include Dead Man's Party, featuring the music of Oingo Boingo; a Journey tribute band called Lights, Eagles' tribute Desperado; Pink Floyd tribute Which One's Pink; and an Aerosmith Tribute band, Aeromyth.

Performing music from virtually every genre, the concerts will be held on Friday and Saturday nights at 6:30 p.m. as well as Sundays and Mondays during long holiday weekends.

"The caliber of bands and solo artists who will perform this summer on Center Stage is remarkable," says Director of Marketing for the Lake Arrowhead Village. "This year's lineup includes artists who have topped the Billboard Charts, won hundreds of awards and thrilled audiences around the world.

While festival seating for the concerts is free, tables can be reserved for $100 (for a full table/which seats up to 10) or $50 (for a half table, which seats up to 4). Also, event sponsorships are still available. For a comprehensive schedule, visit http://www.lakearrowheadvillage.com. Please be aware that performers are subject to change without notice.
