LateRooms.com - Head to Lake District for Treemendous Avatar Adventure

Young people will build their own 'hometree' and protect it from invasion.

2011-05-17
LAKE DISTRICT, ENGLAND, May 17, 2011 (Press-News.org) Families can learn more about trees and recreate some of the action from the highest-grossing film in history at the Treemendous Avatar Adventure in the Lake District.

The session is a new activity for 2011 and aims to inspire children by encouraging them to engage with nature.

It will take place several times over the coming year, with the next opportunities to enjoy the experience happening on June 2nd and August 26th.

Youngsters can learn plenty about the environment at the event, but it will not all be educational.

In an activity that mirrors some of the plot from James Cameron's Avatar, children will be able to have fun building a 'hometree' and protecting it from an organised invasion.

The movie starring Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver tells the story of the Na'vi people of the planet Pandora and their fight to protect their resources and culture.

It costs GBP5 to take part in the Treemendous Avatar Adventure, with attendees meeting at Brockhole - Lake District Visitor Centre at 11:00 or 13:30 BST. The sessions last about 90 minutes.

LateRooms.com offers a wide range of Lake District accommodation that may appeal to families, including the Sharrow Bay Hotel Lake District.

Visit http://www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/events-detail.htm?ID=737711 to find out more about the experience.
