SAN JOSE, CA, May 18, 2011 (Press-News.org) SunPods Inc., a manufacturer of the first complete, factory-built solar array, has signed a letter of intent to enter into a two-year supplier agreement with Renogy LLC, for 10MW of photovoltaic modules.
SunPods will incorporate Renogy's PV modules on select factory-built arrays for the growing US market and in SunPods' Solar Energy Export Kit (SEEK) for international projects.
"Our new supplier agreement with Renogy reflects SunPods' focus on partnering with high quality module manufacturers," said Michael Gumm. "We are impressed with Renogy's known success in Europe and quality certification of their PV systems by Switzerland-based, Global Approval Program for Photovoltaics (PV GAP). Additionally, Renogy's multiple US and global warehouse locations will support SunPods' domestic and international expansion.
Renogy's factories produce solar ingots, wafers, cells, and modules insuring cost and quality control at each step in the production chain. This vertical integration enables Renogy to offer competitive pricing that SunPods will pass through to their sales channels.
