Garner Chamber Annual Meeting to Feature First-Ever Summit Awards

WTVD's Angela Hampton to Emcee Awards Presentation

GARNER, NC, September 15, 2010

As one of the Garner Chamber of Commerce's most popular events, the Annual Meeting and Banquet regularly attracts more than 200 of the area's top business and community leaders. This year's event - to be held Sept. 30 at the Grand Marquise Ballroom in Garner - will also herald the debut of the Summit Awards honoring the best in business.

Angela Hampton, former award-winning news anchor and now community relations director for WTVD, will serve as emcee for the awards portion of the celebration. Other activities will include Chamber highlights for the year and recognition of retiring, continuing and new board members.

Six Summit Awards will be presented during the evening to Chamber members that embody the characteristics of the award categories:

First Citizens Bank Exceptional Customer Service Award

Wachovia/Wells Fargo Integrity in Business Award (honoring companies that display dedication to corporate social responsibility, integrity and ethics)

Entrepreneurial Awards (for 1-15 employees, 16-50 employees and 50-plus employees)

Steady Growth and Achievement Award

"We want this to be a truly enjoyable evening filled with surprises as we announce our award winners," said Garner Chamber President Neal Padgett. "This evening will be an opportunity for us to celebrate our accomplishments while building excitement for the future."
