BILBAO, SPAIN, May 19, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Learning Through Art 2011 exhibition will showcase the impressive artistic abilities of children in the Basque country.
Creations by youngsters aged between six and 12 years old from various schools in the region are the focus of the collection, which includes a range of media such as photography, digital art and music.
The Learning Through Art project sees staff at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao collaborate with teachers to help children express themselves in a personal way.
In order to give them inspiration, the scheme sees pieces by established artists shown to the pupils. This year, Naia del Castillo, Nadia Barkate and Manu Muniategiandikoetxea are among the major names involved.
In a statement, the organisers said: "The works on display are the result of the involvement of several schools in the Basque Country with the 11th Learning Through Art programme."
The museum, which costs EUR8 (GBP7) to enter, is open from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 and 20:00 local time.
Learning Through Art 2011 will be on show from June 14th to August 28th 2011.
