LONDON, ENGLAND, May 19, 2011 (Press-News.org) London-based motion graphics studio The Darkroom brought BACARDI's new 'Together' worldwide brand campaign to life through light and sound in Vienna.
BACARDI's brief asked for experiences incorporating Cuban heritage and the iconic BACARDI Mojito drink as well as the Social Culture.
The Darkroom creatives Emma Wolf and Bruce Ferguson have realised BACARDI's vision through an engaging mapping projection -the first ever public displays of the technology seen in Vienna, Austria.
Projected onto the Kursalon building in Vienna, the five minute public light show masterfully transformed the heritage building into a colourful, vibrant yet weathered Cuba-style building.
Sound was integrated into the projection to help viewers experience Cuba through swelling Cuban drumming, which then grows into a giant jamming session at a traditional Cuban club.
Mint leaves and lime trees then grow to cover the entire building, turning it into 'Casa Mojito' before the entire building is 'frozen' with incredible life-like effect.
Projections of people emphases togetherness, as the building is transformed into nightclubs celebrating a wide variety of dance music and subcultures - before clubbers morph into BACARDI bats and fly off into the night.
The projection is at the centre of the social media surrounding the 'BACARDI Together' campaign.
Guests registered online through facebook and other social media platforms, join together at the projection and are given a wristband that entitles them to an exclusive night of clubbing at various venues around Vienna.
Speaking about the projection, Producer Emma Wolf said: "This event is all about taking BACARDI's coolness and Cuban influences and showcasing it in Vienna like never before - bringing the experiences and people of two cultures together.
The Darkroom has brought BACARDI's social media campaign alive through a truly shared experience, friends and strangers coming together to meet in a physical space rather than an online space."
The Darkroom is working in collaboration with Alex Tomez of Vienna-based agency Stargate Group. Tech equipment supply, crew and lighting provided by Concept Solutions and LM Productions from the UK for provision of a technical media server operator. Sound design by Bobby Krillic.
The BACARDI Together projection was screened twice at Kursalon in Stadtpark on April 28.

Since its inception in 2003, London-based motion graphics studio The Darkroom has been working with the world's leading brands to create content for experiential events. Run by directors Bruce Ferguson and Emma Wolf, The Darkroom uses high-tech animation, sound and music, and 3D mapping to create films and multimedia environments that engage audiences.
The Darkroom has been called upon to create seemingly 'impossible' moving images and events for live audiences in cities worldwide - whether it's creating a dome immersive projection inside an inflatable rugby ball for Tourism NZ, helping Smirnoff celebrate New Year's Eve in July in Caracas, mapping video onto a 180 foot / 60 metre Shangri la Hub Wall at Glastonbury Festival or creating an ice wonderland in Hollywood to launch HBO fantasy TV series, Game of Thrones.
