MANKATO, MN, May 19, 2011 (Press-News.org) Stone Arch Books, an imprint of Capstone, a leading publisher of children's books and digital products and services, is bringing award-winning author Kate McMullan's popular Myth-o-Mania series back into print. Originally published in 2002 and 2003, the revised and redesigned series of eight titles will release Aug. 1, 2011.
Kate McMullan will be at the Capstone booth #2952 at Book Expo America (BEA) at the Javits Center in New York City, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24 signing advance reader copies from the Myth-o-Mania series. McMullan is also participating in the Speed Dating with Children's Authors event earlier on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
"The Myth-o-Mania series has been embraced by readers and educators for its entertaining and engaging storytelling," said Ashley Andersen Zantop, Capstone Group Publisher and General Manager. "We are delighted to reintroduce these beloved fractured myths by Kate McMullan to young readers."
The humorous parodies are written from the point of view of Hades, King of the Underworld, as he shares the real truth behind the most famous Greek myths.
"Who wouldn't hate to have their little brother be the Ruler of the Universe? I chose Hades as the narrator for my Myth-o-Mania series because I figured he'd have a huge grudge against his younger brother, the all-powerful, thunderbolt-hurling, constantly-bragging Zeus," said author Kate McMullan. "I loved setting parts of each story in Hades' Underworld Kingdom, where he hangs with his queen, Persephone, the snake-haired Furies, and his three-headed pooch, Cerbie. Even though Myth-o-Mania tells the Greek myths with a twist, I tried to make each story as true to the traditional myth as possible."
The Myth-o-Mania series will be available in paperback and hardcover formats. E-galleys will be available online at http://www.NetGalley.com at the end of this month.
