Wikitude Revolutionizes the Creation of Augmented Reality Content with new "ARchitect" Platform

VIENNA, AUSTRIA, May 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Until recently, content owners and developers were very much restricted to a rather limited set of functionality Augmented Reality (AR) Browsers offered to them. Typically, developers could only execute a predefined set of functions to create AR experiences specified by AR browsers. With the introduction of ARchitect, Wikitude (http://www.wikitude.org) now enables the developer to reuse the super-rich feature set offered in HTML and JavaScript to build AR content. Essentially, ARchitect allows developers to create AR Worlds as if they would create their own web page. There is no need to learn new concepts, languages or code, Wikitude's ARchitect makes already existing concepts even more powerful. Wikitude's CTO Martin Lechner explains, "In my opinion, having these simple yet flexible and powerful tools, developers will start creating AR content to look more like an application, rather than just geo-referenced content.
