CHICAGO, IL, May 22, 2011

A refreshing film with a classic heart-warming message, "Fancypants" debuts at the Seattle True Indie Film Fest June 3, 2011, fresh off its First Place win at the Sunscreen Film Festival in Jacksonville last month.

Audiences will cheer its classic appeal: the story of a washed-up wrestling legend making a come-back, cheered by his youngest and only remaining fan. Wrestling icon, Roddy Piper and Robert Carradine ("Revenge of the Nerds" ) star in this comedy/ drama, as edgy play-by-play commentators. Packed with other action, away from the wrestling ring, is what offers a poignant message for everyone.

"Fancypants" (www.fancypantsmovie.com), premieres Friday, June 3 at 4pm at the Jewelbox Theater, and Sunday, June 12, 9:30pm at Central Cinema. Tickets will be on sale at http://www.trueindependent.org/attend.html

Produced by Humble Pie Films of Chicago, "Fancypants" is the story of wrestling legend, "Leo the Blue Lion" nearing the sad end of his once vibrant career. One day Leo finds out he has only one fan left - an 8-year-old boy.

"The movie is a comedy/drama with heart; a tale of redemption," says Producer Daniel Hanson.

"Fancypants" was filmed in Chicago and features historic landmarks such as the Congress Theater, Bohemian National Cemetery and Michael Reese Hospital. The film includes appearances by actor/comedian, Richard Kind ("Mad About You"; "Spin City") and Nick Turturro ("NYPD Blue").
