WALDORF, MD, May 22, 2011 (Press-News.org) Jessica Ruiz is on the cusp of becoming one of the most talked about new artists in the industry. The Cleveland, OH, native has been blessed with the voice of an angel and has sung in front of some of today's finest artists including Whitney Houston and CeCe Winans and has opened up for Tye Tribbett. The songstress and Worship Leader of West 58th Street Church of God in Cleveland recently dropped her first single from the highly-anticipated release, Ignited.
She is supporting the upcoming release with two television appearances. In her hometown, Ruiz will be featured on WJW Fox 8 on Monday, May 23, 2011, at 7:45AM EST where she will perform a number of songs from the upcoming project. On Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 11:00AM EST, Jessica will be taping another performance on the Trinity Broadcast Network's "Praise The Lord" program in Akron, Ohio. A frequent guest on TBN, Ruiz is known for her spirited and riveting performances on the Christian network.
A fiery song, "Ignited", is about believers setting their passion for God afire and it's already getting rave reviews. The Black Gospel Blog's Bob Marovich chose it as the TBGB Pick of the Week and says about the single, "Ruiz sings with energy and muscle, as if she is literally as well as spiritually ablaze. Her gutsy style lies somewhere between CCM and gospel, and my sense is she can sing comfortably in both. No surprise she is being compared to Jaci Velasquez and Natalie Grant. Meanwhile, the urban R&B beats and techno bits swirl around her as the drummer pounds with sweat-drenched force."
Jessica is thrilled about the upcoming release. "Even when I say the name of the project, Ignited, something on the inside rises up in me," she explains. "This CD is for Christians who may be new to the faith as well as those who have been Christians for a while, but have lost their fire for God. My hope is that through these songs, the fire of God is ignited within them. The CD itself is filled with fire."
Jessica, singing since her youth, has netted her share of accolades including First Place at the Millennium Stage Talent Show and impressive placements at the Applause International CCM Rising Star Contest and the AMTC/Millie Lewis Singing Competition.
The new single, "Ignited" is available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon and through Jessica's website, http://www.jessicaruiz.com, where the single can be heard. Check out the "hot" single by logging on to http://www.jessicaruiz.com/music. The full release will be dropping Fall 2011.
