LAUDERDALE, FL, May 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) ViJIEN Enterprises Corporation (VEC), a South Florida strategic business development and management company announces its inaugural ViJIEN Youth Film Academy to be held at ArtServe 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd in Fort. Lauderdale. Film camp activities will take place from June 27 through July 22, Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Film cadets will be divided into two groups: Ages (8-12) and (13-17) to complete a short film to premiere on July 30 at 10:00 a.m.
With its mission to provide kids the opportunity to experience the creative processes of filmmaking, award winning writer and director, Keith C. Wade of Polaris Pictures will instruct cadets in the areas of acting, scriptwriting, directing, and post-production.
"I am ecstatic to work with these young celebrities in their own right, alongside industry professionals guiding them every step of the way," says Tomeka Napper, CEO of VEC.
Designed as a hands-on experience, this camp aims to develop and facilitate creativity, team building, and self-confidence by providing an outlet for positive and healthy self-expression through community awareness. With community awareness as a priority, a portion of the proceeds from the ViJIEN Youth Film Academy will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters—an organization that VEC has chosen to support and shed awareness on its mentoring programs for young children.
The camp is currently open for registration until June 24, 2011 and seats are limited. Program cost: $400 per child for the 4-week program; a $175 deposit is required to secure a spot.
