2011-05-26
GRANDVILLE, MI, May 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) Daniel Amedee is a twenty-four year old singer, songwriter, performer from New Orleans, LA who has been writing music since he was fourteen years old. When Hurricane Katrina forced Daniel out of the city of New Orleans, he realized his opportunity to pursue a serious music career. He decided to move to Ireland and play music around Europe, allowing him to develop his own musical style.

Heading back to New Orleans, Daniel embarked on several US tours and in San Francisco met producer Charles Gonzalez. Charles, a fellow New Orleans native, impressed by Daniel's style, asked to record his first full-length album "Themes From". The album was recorded with the help of several respected musicians including Percussionist Patrick Spurgeon (Rogue Wave) and violist Charith Premawardhanna (Mars Volta, Classical Revolution).

The songs on 'Themes From' are a fusion of rock, choral and orchestral genres. Speaking about the release Daniel comments "I am very proud of this album and feel extremely lucky to have worked with such a talented group of musicians to create a really unique sound. The album contains references my own ideas on life, love, and the developing minds of the people around me".

Jeff Libby, President of Expat Records comments "Daniel Amedee captures the soul of Cat Stevens in his incredible lyrics with a dynamic voice that can bellow low like that of Leonard Cohen or reach high like Elliot Smith. This is topped off with biting, epic music reminiscent of Arcade Fire. We are excited about the future of this talented New Orleans singer songwriter".
