CALELLA, SPAIN, May 29, 2011 (Press-News.org) A new type of budget youth hostel recently opened its doors in Calella de Mar on the Maresme coast in Spain. The hostel hopes to cater to the needs of the more savvy and experienced budget travelers. The Estrella de Mar Youth Hostel is ready for business during the 2011 Spring and Summer Season.
With their sharp prices but extensive services, the hostel hopes to target people that are traveling to Spain on a budget. "We play right into the needs and requirements of the self conscious traveler. They want a quality product for an economic price. No longer will they accept a worn down accommodation or a boring environment," comments Astrid Comerma, who operates the Estrella de Mar Youth Hostel.
Their new facilities include a launderette service, ironing facilities, towel service, secure in-room lockers, air-conditioning and magnet key system. In terms of catering the hostel has a breakfast room, a lounge bar with vending machines, as well as an a la carte restaurant with a garden. For the entertainment needs the hostel offers a TV room with a large flat screen, DVDs, karaoke machine, game machines, pool table, table football, computers with internet access and Free Wifi in the lobby and lounge.
According to Comerma, backpackers and young families not only choose their youth hostel because it's a cheap vacation, but they select the hostel because they offer a choice in products. The hostel has mixed dorm rooms for groups or individuals and private accommodations for families or small groups of friends.
