EXTON, PA, May 29, 2011 (Press-News.org) Lionville, Pa. On Friday March 7, 2011, Dimetix USA released the FLS-C Laser Distance Sensor. The FLS-C Laser Distance Sensor measures absolute distances up to 500 meters. It provides maintenance free measurement of distances on natural surfaces with a precision of up to 1mm. The FLS-C Sensor can determine positions of moving or stationary objects. The updated measurement rate of the FLS-C laser sensor permits faster moving targets to be monitored.
The FLS-C Distance Sensor consists of a rugged IP 65 standard aluminum case enabling operation at - 10 to + 50 degrees C ambient temperatures. All inputs and outputs are available through a 15 pin connector on the rear of the FLS-C laser, as well as internally via screw terminals. The FLS-C series distance laser includes serial RS-232, RS-422, and 4-20 mA analog communications. The analog output is scalable to suit the desired measurement range.
The FLS-C Distance Sensor is designed for use both indoors and outdoors and in harsh, industrial environments such as aluminum, copper, paper, steel, and saw mills.
Typical Applications for the FLS-C Series Laser Distance Sensor include Overhead crane positioning, Elevator positioning, Level measuring in silos, Parking garage beam locations, Vehicle locations, Altitude measurements, Steel Slab thickness, and measurement of Wood products for width, thickness and length as well as for measuring width and diameter of Paper roll products in converting mills.
