Cambridge, MN to Improve Its Social Media and GIS Visibility

Cambridge, MN Economic Development Authority is partnering with Golden Shovel Agency and Applied Data Consultants to provide a professional website solution with the robust EAGL-i site selector tool.

2011-06-01
CAMBRIDGE, MN, June 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) In an effort to promote its business-friendly climate and close proximity to the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, the Cambridge Economic Development Authority has chosen the GateKeeper Social Media service and EAGL-i Site Selection tool to showcase its community.

According to Stan Gustafson, Economic Development Director for Cambridge, MN. My working relationship with Golden Shovel has been great. We do hear good comments about our website right now, but I think this will make our site more noticeable. Minnesota is unique in itself, and we do have a lot of competition for businesses, but there is still a lot of good business here.

The GateKeeper Social Media service, by Golden Shovel Agency, includes strategic social media planning, social media implementation, weekly content management and support, and periodic press releases promoting community events and business growth.

Golden Shovel is a Minnesota-based Web development firm specializing in online tools for economic and community development. The Economic Gateway Web system includes an expandable and on-demand content management system (CMS) and a robust social media implementation strategy.

The EAGL-i Site Selector tool is a product of Applied Data Consultants, Inc. (ADC), a geographic information systems (GIS) and application development company headquartered in Eau Claire, Wis. EAGL-i allows site selectors to view available properties on an interactive map and to have associated demographic information for each site displayed in an easy-to-use format.

"Cambridge is the perfect example of community that understands the future of business growth,"
said Ron Kresha, President of Golden Shovel Agency. "Their diligence and attention to the needs of the businesses and residents is astounding. By taking the steps of promoting themselves with social media and offer a powerful site selection tool they move themselves to the forefront of many conversations."

Cambridge is using the Economic Gateway and EAGL-i site selection tool coupled with the GateKeeper 2.0 Social Management Service. These combined services offer the most strategic and systematic approach for communities seeking to increase their web presence and manage the multiple social media outlets.
