Hollywood and Brazilian Movie Stars to Attend the Opening Night Celebration of the 3rd Annual Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival Presented by LG Brazil

The 4 day Film Fest will take place on June 1 - 4, 2011 in Hollywood, California. The opening night festivities include a red carpet, a film screening.

With the theme IndieBrazil 2011, The Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival presented by LG Brazil will showcase selected feature and short films by up and coming Brazilian filmmakers. HBR FEST officially kicks off Wednesday, June 1st with an Opening Night Celebration at the Egyptian Theater featuring a star-studded red carpet and a tribute celebration to the career of Fernanda Montenegro, Brazil's most accomplished actress. Fernanda Montenegro received a leading actress Academy Award Nomination for her work in Central Station, and will make a rare visit to the USA for this special occasion. The evening also showcases the West Coast Premiere of the feature film RISCADO (Craft) and the short film RECIFE FRIO (Cold Tropics).
The 9 feature and 9 short films selected for this year's festival have something very meaningful in common: they are independent productions. Most were made with the support of federal and regional funds, but still, they each have a singular, original voice of their own. They are totally universal in their approach to the audience, miles away from any cliches we all know too well.
