DePuy Hip Lawsuit - Lawyers File Patient's DePuy Hip Lawsuits Nationwide

DePuy hip lawsuits are being filed on behalf of patients nationwide that are affected by the DePuy hip recall.

2010-09-16
FORT WORTH, TX, September 16, 2010 (Press-News.org) Depuy hip lawsuits are being filed for patients nationwide who are affected by the Depuy hip recall. The DePuy ASR hip replacements have been found to fail at a very high rate and this often results in the patient needing to have the device removed and replaced in a revision surgery. Thousands of patients are expected to be affected by the DePuy hip recall.

The DePuy ASR Hip Problems Well Known
For years prior to the DePuy hip recall of the ASR hip systems, published articles detailed the design problems with the device. Hundreds of Adverse Event Reports to the FDA in the United States confirmed what the studies showed. The DePuy ASR hip was withdrawn from the Australian market in December 2009. On May 25, 2010 a Medical Device Alert was issued in the UK for the DePuy Hip.

Hundreds of patients in the United States have had to undergo additional hip revision surgery due to the failure of the DePuy ASR hip replacement according to the reports made to the FDA. Depuy hip recall lawyers familiar with defective medical device law report that a Depuy hip class action and DePuy hip recall lawsuits have been filed.

Monetary Damages and Compensation for DePuy ASR Victims
Depuy ASR hip replacement patients may be eligible for compensation due to the injuries they have suffered as a result of being implanted with the defective DePuy ASR hip replacement. Past and future pain, suffering, medical bills, lost earnings, and disfigurement are among the damages that the patients may be entitled to recover.

Patients who have had a hip replacement since 2003 and are experiencing pain are urged to contact their orthopedic surgeons or the hospital where their hip surgery took place to find out if the DePuy ASR Hip was used in their hip replacement surgery.

DePuy hip lawyers for patients with the defective hip implant have begun filing defective Depuy hip recall class action lawsuits on behalf of patients. Lawyers that practice in the area of defective hip implants have begun to prepare legal claims for patients, in spite of the lack of a DePuy ASR hip recall. These DePuy ASR Hip lawsuits will seek monetary damages and medical monitoring for the patients. The Johnson Law Firm, a national law firm at the forefront of defective medical device litigation, last month opened a new division within the firm dedicated to filing DePuy hip replacement lawsuits on behalf of patients who have had DePuy ASR hip revision surgery.

"This DePuy ASR hip should not have been allowed to remain on the market after DePuy and the FDA were notified of the failure rates and problems associated with the device. Adequate testing of the device by DePuy would have revealed the defects with the device and a timely DePuy hip recall would have saved many of these patients from revision surgeries, complications and pain," according to Johnson Law Firm attorneys. "We have clients from across the United States who suffered complications after being implanted with the defective DePuy ASR hip replacement. We are proud to represent these clients in Depuy hip lawsuits against the manufacturer. Our DePuy hip lawyers intend to seek every measure of damages allowed by law for our clients in these cases and we will hold this manufacturer accountable."

The Johnson Law Firm has represented thousands of people and their families in cases where defective medical devices or defective pharmaceutical drugs have caused serious injuries or death. The firm has clients from every state. Changing Perceptions of the Role of Full-Time Dads

2010-09-16
The 21st century has seen advances in technology, science, medicine and more. One thing that traditionally hasn't changed, however, is the perception of the father's role in a child's life. Ask most people what a dad does, they may mention things like playing catch, being the family breadwinner, tackling household maintenance projects or mowing the lawn. When the phrase "primary caretaker" arises, few people equate that with a father. As the Bob Dylan song goes, though, "the times, they are a-changin'." Fathers all around the country are choosing to raise their children ...

Can Doctors Face Retaliation for Protecting Patients?

2010-09-16
Medical professionals often feel they have a reputation to protect, and the best strategy for achieving that goal is adherence to accepted medical standards and treating patients with the respect they deserve. But the recently settled case of a New York bariatric surgeon suggests that sometimes patients' best interests are not the foremost goal, when eliminating a colleague who dissents about medical practices seems more expedient. Dr. Neelu Pal lost her position at New York University's Medical Center in 2006 after she informed several patients scheduled for weight-loss ...

These two crane accidents have been at the center of multiple investigations, civil lawsuits and criminal charges against those believed to be responsible for the catastrophes. Rigging contractor William Rapetti was one of the individuals facing criminal charges for his role in the East 51st Street collapse. ...

Pennsylvania Court Considers Legal Justification for Drunk Driving

2010-09-16
A recent Pennsylvania appellate court decision involved a rarely implemented defense in a DUI/DAI case. In Commonwealth v. Clouser, the Pennsylvania Superior Court considered whether a driver was justified in fleeing danger in his vehicle even though he was intoxicated. While the trial court had denied the defendant's request to argue justification, the Superior Court held that he should have been allowed to present this defense. Appellant Michael Allan Clouser was out at a Franklin County tavern in June of 2009 with his girlfriend. Clouser admitted at trial that he ...

Pennsylvania Field Sobriety Testing

2010-09-16
In Pennsylvania, an officer often conducts field sobriety testing prior to asking a driver to submit to a roadside breath test and making an arrest, whether the driver is suspected of intoxication during a traffic stop, sobriety checkpoint or saturation patrol. In October 2008, Pennsylvania began the Checkpoint Strikeforce Initiative, which requires each of the 15 regional state police troops to conduct random sobriety tests of drivers on most weekends. The State Police Commissioner noted that the program contributed to a record number of DUI arrests that year. Standardized ...
