COSTA MESA, CA, September 16, 2010 (Press-News.org) Archstone, a leader in apartment investment and operations, will launch public online voting Thursday for its popular "Taste of Archstone" online video cooking contest. Voting will begin at 11 a.m. EDT September 16 and end at 6 p.m. EDT September 25. The video contest entry receiving the most "likes" will win an exclusive luxury Napa Valley getaway package.

Dozens of entries have been received from Archstone residents across the nation, all with a creative flair ranging from original rap songs like "The Tilapia Rap," an entry from Washington, D.C., to a real French chef at his home barbecue in San Diego.

"These excellent videos truly showcase the diverse flavors, cultures and personalities of our residents and communities - and they will make you hungry!" said Donald Davidoff, group vice president and head of marketing for Archstone. "I am excited to see how the public reacts to these outstanding and wonderfully unique entries from around the nation."

The winning video contest entry will receive a luxury Napa Valley getaway package valued at approximately $4,500, including round-trip airfare, three nights' accommodation at the Chanric Inn featuring the Hot Air Balloon Package, a cooking class at the Culinary Institute of America, dinner at the Wine Spectator Greystone Restaurant and more. Visit Archstone's blog to view the "Taste of Archstone" entries.

Since July 21, participants have been uploading their original online cooking videos, which express their personalities and highlight their cooking skills in preparing dishes with local ingredients, to www.youtube.com. Video contest entries, which had to be uploaded by 11:59 p.m. on September 15, could not exceed two minutes in length and needed to include "Taste of Archstone" in the video title and description. The cooking contest entries were open to all U.S. residents, 21 years of age and over.

The online video cooking contest is part of Archstone's fall 2010 resident appreciation and leasing expo, "Taste of Archstone," running from September 16 through 19. Visit any Archstone apartments community nationwide during the promotion to learn more about leasing incentives and promotions.
