Sandy Springs' Morgan Falls Road Improvement Plans Approved for Construction Morgan Falls Road Construction To Begin

2011-06-03
ATLANTA, GA, June 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) Southeastern Engineering Inc. (SEI), a woman owned engineering and surveying consulting firm headquartered in Marietta, Georgia, recently received final plan approval from Georgia Power, EPD and the City of Sandy Springs for the Morgan Falls Road improvement project. Although the City of Sandy Springs has not yet set the project's construction procurement schedule, the City is interested in improving access to the Overlook Park in the near future.

SEI provided planning, surveying, environmental permitting and engineering necessary to produce plans that not only realign portions of and widen Morgan Falls Road but also provide pedestrian and bicycle facilities from Roswell Road to the Chattahoochee River and Sandy Springs' new Overlook Park. The total project length is approximately 1.2 miles.

Multijurisdictional coordination was required from ARC, FEMA, Fulton County, EPD solid waste division, EPD Watershed Protection, USACOE, Colonial Pipeline, Georgia Power Hydroelectric Power Generation and the City of Sandy Springs. "Although navigating the project's requisite multijurisdictional permits/approvals did present challenges, it's not usual we have this many permitting challenges for a project," stated SEI's Vice President and Project Manager, Chad Epple. "Understanding and identifying critical path tasks and approvals within the frame work of a multijurisdictional project, is one of many of our company's strengths. Seamless internal coordination between disciplines (planning, traffic, engineering, surveying, environmental, etc.) ensures efficient project coordination and effective quality control."

Southeastern Engineering Incorporated (SEI) is a leading diversified woman-owned engineering and consulting company with extensive experience in civil (site development, transportation, traffic) engineering, land surveying, landscape architecture, land planning, 3D laser scanning and environmental/ecological consulting. Headquartered in Marietta, the Company is actively involved in transportation, aviation, mixed-use, multi-family, retail and residential development projects throughout the metro Atlanta area.
