PRINCETON, NJ, June 08, 2011
With gas prices expected to reach $5.00 per gallon this summer, the topic of alternative fuels is extremely important to fleet managers seeking ways to control fuel costs. NAFA Fleet Management Association takes a look at the new state of alternative fuels on Tuesday, June 14, as part of the Association's free monthly webinar series. The webinar will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Eastern time and is free for all NAFA Members and Affiliates. Registration for the webinar closes on Monday, June 13.Presenters for the webinar include: Greg Zilberfarb, a consultant working with the Propane Education & Research Council; Dr. Richard Nelson, a consultant with the National Biodiesel Foundation; Robert White, the Director of Market Development for the Renewable Fuels Association; and Stephen Yborra, the Director of Market Development for NGV America.
The webinar is a scaled down version of the full-day workshops given around the country by The Alternative Fuels Alliance, a group funded by the U.S. Department of Energy as part of the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act. The Alliance has completed 12 workshops around the country, garnering extremely positive comments from its participants.
The Alternative Fuels Alliance consists of:
• The Propane Education & Research Council
• The Renewable Fuels Association (representing ethanol)
• The National Biodiesel Foundation
• The Clean Vehicle Education Foundation (representing natural gas)
The goal of the alliance is to accurately inform fleets around the country on what alternatives they have to gasoline and diesel. Each of the four organizations submits their planned PowerPoint presentations to USDOE officials before each presentation to ensure accuracy and validity.
NAFA's free monthly webinar series is just one of many benefits fleet managers gain with membership in the Association. Other benefits include a collective legislative voice in the United States and Canadian governments, networking opportunities, fleet education and research, and certification programs.
