Boise campus becomes premier sponsor of the Health Care Heroes awards program

2011-06-08
BOISE, ID, June 08, 2011 (Press-News.org) Stevens-Henager College announced today its sponsorship of the 2011 Idaho Business Review Health Care Heroes awards program. As a leader in the education and training of students for careers in healthcare, Stevens-Henager College takes pride in sponsoring an event that acknowledges Idaho healthcare organizations and individuals in the healthcare industry. Stevens-Henager College offers several healthcare degree programs, including healthcare administration, medical specialties, nursing administration, and respiratory therapy.

"We are thrilled to be the premier sponsor of this year's Health Care Heroes awards program and join in recognizing those dedicated individuals who tirelessly serve the health needs of our community," said Danielle Horras, associate director at Stevens-Henager College, Boise. "As health educators, we recognize the immense value that this industry provides to the state of Idaho. Just as we support our students in their education and careers, we want to support and honor healthcare professionals."

As part of the school's Health Care Heroes sponsorship, Stevens-Henager College representatives will be at the Idaho Alliance of Leaders in Nursing conference on June 17 and the Idaho Healthcare Association-Idaho Center for Assisted Living convention on July 19.

Now in its sixth year, the Health Care Heroes awards program was developed by the Idaho Business Review to acknowledge Idaho healthcare organizations and individuals involved within the healthcare industry. The program was developed to recognize and honor the many contributors to the industry, from hospitals, doctors and nurses, community outreach programs, volunteers, and more. Judges consider submitted evidence of a nominee's effectiveness, including testimonials from superiors, peers, patients, and administrators.

Stevens-Henager College has branch locations in Boise, Idaho Falls (branch of CollegeAmerica Flagstaff), and Nampa that offer degree programs. The college also has a College Education Center in Mountain Home that provides support to students enrolled in online programs offered by its Salt Lake City/Murray affiliate in Utah. Approximately 650 students in the state of Idaho are enrolled in one of the college's business, graphic arts, healthcare, and information technology degree programs.
